Dr. Quang Hsi Hu estate (my husband and I purchased this,stored at local moving co. since 1991 in tractor trailor-expect mustiness!). Large estate of documents,photos ,etc. dating back to his early college years. Dr. Hu lived and worked at Willard Asylum. He is a patent holder.All his tools are included and I enclosed a copy of his patent. Dr. Hu was born in Peiping China in 1911 and completed his degree at the University of Vienna in 1939. He is extremely well traveled, marrying an Austrian native and coming here to NYC in the 40s , obtaining citizenship I believe in Cayuga county in 1950s. This is chocked full of things he never threw out including:
Tiensin University document; duplicate U. Vienna diploma; another stamped Chinese school doc.;13 pieces of school courses-German ,Nazi stamped;15 other documents,letters. He has class student ID books that he got duplicated 1953,his pass and another id book. There is a photo album wih 348 pics of family,school,etc. There are over 2 doz. postcards,correspondence, 284 letters-German not translated, most with stamps,pstmarked, including some with German soldier. There are 13 licenses of various states, for physician,surgeon: a plaque and two other framed -APA and certificate.Dr Hu kept just about every calender/pocket notebook from 1936 on up- there are 56 of these mostly written in German or Chinese. There is a box and a bag with his medical tools and I believe the tool he patented a well.The bag is marked Max Mattes and has a center storage with 2 side pockets contains 27 pieces. The box holds 24 pieces. Included is an early Welch Allen instrument.
ALL of these items are old and have seen some travel!!!! they were stored for better than two decades! (mainly in file cabinet)No noticeable mouse problems,there is mustiness!! none are pristine,folds,stains,tears, etc.letters in no order!
