Description
A small document from Tishomingo, United States Southern District Indian Territory, a Certificate of Record dated December 20, 1905. Approximately 8" x 3 1/8" in size, raised seal. Tishomingo was the first capitol of the Chickasaw Nation in Oklahoma from 1856 until Oklahoma statehood in 1907. The city was named after Tishomingo, a Native American who died of smallpox near Little Rock, Arkansas during the "Trail of Tears" removal of the Chickasaw people from their original homes near Tishomingo, Mississippi.We are full time autograph and document dealers and members of the Manuscript Society.
