Description
This unusual set combines a shortwave, longwave, AM and FM reception with stereo receiver features - inputs for turntables, tape recorders, AUX input, as well as tape out, and stereo amplifiers with 10 watts RMS per channel.A fine tuning control is provided as is a BFO so sideband and CW reception is possible. Bass, treble, and balance controls are also present. Frequency coverage is 0.190–0.400, 0.535–1.605, 2–4, 5.85–10.3, 11.4–18.2, 88–108 MHz. There's a built-in antenna for standard broadcast and longwave, with terminals for antennas for all bands. This unit was made for Hallicrafters in Japan and sold in the 1968-1970 timeframe.
Although I can't guarantee the condition of a set that's over 50 years old, it mostly works. Both channels sound good and clean, and there are stations to be picked up on every band when used with a proper antenna. FM and stereo work. The MPX lamp and the signal strength meter don't work. Some of the controls are scratchy, probably from lack of use and there are a few scratches on the wood grain metal cabinet. I've owned this for many years but have not used it much.
I have a pdf copy of the service manual which I can send you. No other accessories are included. Shipped weight will be about 25 pounds so I'm sorry but correctly packaging this is a substantial cost.
