Passive HF - VHF Customizable Loop Antenna for Portable Scanner Radio Receiver

This sale is for an HF-VHF magnetic loop antenna that can be customized to cover a variety of frequency ranges to offer some versatility to your handheld receiver.  It comes with a wire loop that covers 14 - 54 MHz, but you can experiment with a longer or shorter loop and number of turns to move the frequency range higher or lower to match your needs and listening preferences.   The handheld radio shown in our pictures at the top of this listing is used for demonstration only and is NOT included with the antenna.
The antenna is a "receive only" device and does not require any batteries for operation.  We also offer an amplified HF antenna in our Ebay store, but as with all amplified antennas, their weakness is that they can amplify household RF noise along with the desired incoming signal.  The advantage of this antenna is that its passive nature and loop design makes it less susceptible to household RF noise over traditional whip or telescopic antennas.  Loop antennas receive magnetic signals which serve to ignore standard RF signals and noise and this makes them a good choice for higher RF noise environments such as those found with computers, TV's, LED or fluorescent lighting, microwave ovens, light dimmers, etc.

Please note that the wire loop supplied with this antenna is coiled for convenient shipment and will require you to uncoil and attach to the tuner housing before use.
Hobbyists who own a good handheld receiver will often desire for better signal reception and will want to experiment with the antenna to improve performance.
