Vtg 80s Skrimshaw Iris Blossoms Tennessee State Flower on Ivory Trivet Souvenir
This lovely vintage souvenir displays the State of Tennessee flower, the Iris, done in the scrimshaw fashion on an ivory acrylic oval trivet.  It is signed on the front with the artist signature running beside an iris stem, the round WU Di symbol, the date 86, plus the copyright symbol. It also has the original gold foil label affixed to the back stating: “Authentic Handcraft from Tennessee” and with the native Thunderbird icon symbol (see photo).  The back is covered with a green paper velvet to protect surfaces.  This is a lovely, functional and unique souvenir that can be used as a trivet or as wall décor by using a small plate hanger. It is in excellent vintage condition from gentle use and measures approximately 4” by 6”.
Please keep in mind this is vintage and not a new item. I try to describe items as accurately as possible, but cannot always detail each flaw. Crazing and manufacturing flaws such as pin heads, color variations, straw marks, bubbles, inclusions, and other manufacturing anomalies, which are considered normal for glass, china, and pottery of age. Most vintage items are as they came from an estate, so may have water stains inside vases of age, scuff to wood, etc.
