In this listing, what looks to be a receipt from one-time Democratic Congressman Winder Laird Henry ( politician, member of US House of Representatives ) for a check on the account of the Eastern Shore Land Improvement Company (of which Henry was treasurer) received from the firm of Harrington, Mace, and Harrington on that firm’s letterhead. This firm consisted of Emerson C. Harrington, later a Democratic governor of Maryland, Irving Mace, and Calvin Harrington, as listed at the top of the letterhead. Also noted on the letterhead is the firm’s location in Cambridge at the [Cambridge] “Chronicle Building”; Henry himself was editor of the Cambridge Chronicle newspaper. This document dated Oct 29, 1906. Writing on verso in pencil. Henry was related to the notable Goldsborough family of MD’s Eastern Shore.
